MAISON & OBJET PARIS: Perfection in the details

Luxury international Exhibition of MAISON & OBJET was first held in Paris some twenty years ago. The exhibition this year was held in parallel with the design week in Paris from 5 to 9 September in nine pavilions of the exhibition center Parc des Expositions – Paris Nord Villepinte.
Thanks to its large scale (250,000 sq.m. stands 3,000 exhibitors) and history, MAISON & OBJET PARIS remains one of the most important international exhibitions in the world. MAISON & OBJET in one and the same time, the general and specialized exhibition. The word «maison» (house) covers a wide range of areas, while «objet» (object) is an infinite set of objects together these concepts express a universe of decoration and design, providing an opportunity to meet with international trends and innovations in the field of home decor and design. This year the exhibition appeared viewer’s eye with an updated set design, created by architect and designer Philippe Boisselier, has a focus on decorative architectural solutions. The main theme of MAISON & OBJET PARIS this year – «sharing», it includes a dynamic exchange of experiences, information and services, care about the future of the world. The theme of the exhibition brings together exhibitors and visitors to the global community that is united throughout the year, thanks to the rest of the 3 exhibitions in Paris, Singapore and Miami, as well as through social networks. Theme «sharing» also means going beyond purely commercial approach and offers visitors presentations produman- spaces for communication, planning and recreation. From the very beginning of its foundation, the exhibition MAISON & OBJET considered a key event for interior design solutions of high level. This year, the focus of the September exhibition was aimed at architecture. The space devoted to architecture, increased by 2,000 sq.m. Here, interior designers and builders were able to find a fresh and original solutions and finishes, for both internal and external spaces. Innovations at the fair MAISON & OBJET are always up with a deep aesthetic content. New solutions cladding sheet metal buildings, designed by Philippe Starck for BACACIER GROUP, advanced the concept of doors without handles and frames by Didier Versavel for DRAKKAR CRÉATIONS, all these and many other technical innovations FIR represented in the exhibition, different incredible aesthetic refinement. For example, radiators CAMPA is the epitome of the highest level of performance with an impressive design. Study materials PORCELANOSA GROUP led to the creation of the first pan shower with the possibility of personalization, which was presented at the company’s booth. The aim was to provide exhibitors visitors advanced design, unsurpassed innovative solutions, competitive and unpretentious. From 19 to 23 February in Kiev hosted the largest international exhibition of furniture, lighting and decor Interior Mebel 2014. Third time by companies from Italy, Germany, France, Spain, England, Portugal, Lithuania, the United States showed its vision of interior design for residential and office Improvement Ukrainian consumers.
This year, the exhibition area has almost doubled, thus occupying almost all three pavilions of the International Exhibition Centre. In total, more than 250 companies, among which amounted to about 200 Italians, who took 90% of the area, put their stands on the design forum. Given the successful experience of European brands in previous years, as well as increasing exports of the Spanish furniture to Ukraine, the exhibition was also attended by five Spanish companies. The main part of the European representatives of exhibitors were above the average price segment: manufacturers of furniture, lighting, kitchens, plumbing. Among the participating companies were popular furniture brands – Poliform, Morelato, Scavolini, Rimadesio, GIMO Group, Bulthaup, Colombo Style, Patina, Smania, Ligne Roset, Savio Firmino, Cassina, Jumbo Collection, Zanaboni, BelCor, factory lighting – Artemide, Mechini, Foscarini, Masiero, as well as fabrics and decor – Lladro, Dedar, Svad Dondi, Agresti. Taking into account the fact that the market is estimated at Italian interiors 350-400 million euros a year, it continues to be of strategic importance to the Italian partners, most of whom arrived in Kiev, despite the difficult political situation. Number of visitors this year compared with 2013 year, due to the current situation in the country has decreased by almost half, from 16 000 to 7000 people. Nevertheless, the organizers of the exhibition, the Italian company KDM International and Ukrainian Proexpo, made every effort to ensure the event was not disrupted and held as scheduled.
